News versus Fark

Drew Curtis has been serving up worthless news for years and doing so profitably. He’s the first to admit that his Web site, Fark.com, is a resource for people in media who don’t have anything important to say or do.

Now Curtis has written a book detailing the disappointing patterns he’s seen emerge in news media. He talks to kentuckyforum.org about the origins of his site, the myriad attempts to make real news profitable and the tried-and-true news templates that regularly serve to fill your newspaper, radio and television with junk.
