Unions are what keeps business in line. They make sure employees have a reasonable wage, benefits, a set work week and a safe work environment. If it wasn't for unions, no one would have any of these. Unions have made it possible for this country to have a middle class.

Doug Alexander is NOT interested in helping Kentucky. I would love to ever be invited to any public forum he spouts his garbage. They won't do it though, because in order to pass anything like Right to Work for Less - it would require a bully pulpit.

Hi Lowell...
I wondered what you were doing these days???
I am not sure what you want me to say here???
(1) I think that Fletcher will win in November in a close race.
(2) I think that the Democrats in Congress will keep the war in Iraq going until they get in the White House and can further discredit
"Georgie Boy" as well as all other 'Tax and Spend' (how else do politicians get money) Republicans...
(3) School Vouchers are a bad idea as it will further destroy the public school system and the rich people will still get there kids in the best schools and have the most success. Muslin schools will spring up everywhere to take advantage of the public funding. Unless they intend to only let some religions have schools??
(4) Gambling of all types should be available to everyone. Be like South Dakota and let anyone fill out a form and pay a fee and have a gambling license. Then the gamblers will be happy and the business people will be happy. The big money people will have to compete with the small business owners for the gambling money. Where is it written that says that 'the rich should get richer and the 'poor get poorer'.
(5) Global warming is in a cycle that is being aggravated by modern people. We should have more Nuclear Power stations and the waste is not a problem. The technology to recycle Nuclear waste has been available for 50 years but it is more politically correct to hire a big company like Haliburton to store it for 1000 years and get payed for the service.
(6) We are doing the same thing with water. It is going to be a greater and greater problem as time goes along. We should be building more dams and lakes to provide more water as well as recreation opportunities. Raise the Dams on the Ky River and add power generators like Germany and most of the countries in Europe.
(6) If you wonder how we are going to pay for all of this I think the $1 Trillion dollars that we are going to spend in Iran and Iraq and that whole area will go along way to doing it. -OR- Do what we have being doing for a long time don't bother to pay for it just borrow it from the Chinese and Japanese and let our g-children try and figure out how to pay for it.
(7) Hi to Carol...
I am not sure this is what you had in mind, call me if you need any more.
                  Regards... John
